to be the best...

...you have to beat the best.

The Mets are about to prove it.

Starting tomorrow, we go against SIX playoff teams (19 games) from last year. The schedule from hell.

Wow, that is pretty rough. Here is another little fact, courtesy of Jayson Stark:

they're about to become the first team ever to play six straight series against six different teams that made the playoffs last year. Two other teams in history (the 1997 White Sox and 2002 Blue Jays) have played six series in a row against playoff teams -- but not against six different teams. The Mets managed to pull that off because they're also the first club ever to play interleague games against all four of the other league's playoff entrants from the previous year. Lucky them.

You know what though? I am excited! I can't wait to go through this tough stretch and come out on top. It will feel that much better at the end of the season when we are on top, knowing that we played the toughest interleague schedule in the majors.

GO METS!

The Mets' AAA team plays in DMoines this weekend, I may be hitting that up Sunday at 1:05.
