20 minutes ago -- I get home from work, turn on ESPN and see the "BREAKING NEWS " segment show up immediately. I knew the Twins were supposed to be making a decision today, but I never actually thought...
The USA Today is reporting that for Johan we are giving up Carlos Gomez, Philip Humber, Kevin Mulvey, and Carlos Guerra. Wow. If this all pans out, we didn't have to give up Fernando Martinez or Mike Pelfrey!
They just said on ESPN that this is the 4th worst offer the Twins got for Santana, (the other 3 were from the Yankees and the Red Sox earlier on) but they played hard ball, stuck it out, and ended up getting burned. I thought for sure we were gonna lose F-Mart, but Omar played his cards right, and I am pumped!

From the USA TODAY: "The deal is pending the Mets and Santana reaching agreement on a six- or seven-year contract extension and that Santana passes a physical; they have been granted a 48 to-72-hour window to do so."
Let's get that contract figured out men. For now you can sit back and wipe the drool off of your chin and take a look at our 2008 rotation now:
1) Pedro Martinez
2) Johan Santana
3) John Maine
4) Oliver Perez
5) Orlando "El Duque" Hernandez
I love this deal, but FWIW, I did like Carlos Gomez, and I think he will turn out to be a great player.

Fuck the Mets, They'll still blow it down the stretch. And the twins will continue to compete in the hardest division is baseball with their rag tag team of under paid misfits!

Whatever baseball is the shit!!! The Mets now have the starting rotation to make it, I mean hell, in the playofs with a four man rotation El Duque can come out of the pen!!!
I am so pumped, I can't wait for pitchers and catchers to get here.
I have nothing against the Twins, and I like to see them do well, but I sure am pumped about this trade!!
