naysayers
"You naysayer... always f***ing naysaying..."

People I know are trying to rip on this trade the Mets just made, saying we sold the farm, so to speak, and I think they are just bitter. Everyone knows we got a great deal on this.
I know we supposedly gave up 4 of our "best prospects" but they are what they are, prospects. I liked Gomez, he had wheels, etc. etc. But come on! Johan Santana!
In response to you (Mr. Crooks) I suggest you read this article: LINK It has some good things for fans of both teams. Things you may not realize. All in all it's not a BAD trade for the Twins, they jsut could have maybe gotten a better one.
For now -- just bask in the glory that is the New York Mets.

What does Crooks know about sports!!!
The twins could have gotten more, but really who was going to give it to them.
Short term great trade, long term, maybe not so great. We all know the players the Twins got from the Mets will turn into studs and the twins won't be able to afford them so they'll most likely end up back in NY. One way or another!
that's funny because it's true. ;)
I don't know, the Twins could have done better, but that's the hand they were dealt, they decide to pit the yanks and red sox against each other and they both scared each other out, so here come the Mets, having him fall in their lap for relatively nothing.
It is always going to be risky trading prospects for ONE GUY. Johan could get injured the first day of spring training and never be the same again.
Either way, this should get a lot of those people to forget about our monster freaking collapse at the end of last season. At least they will forget about it for the moment...
"Monster Fucking collapse" is an understatement. If I had to capture it in words I would say " an epic Hugeballorious collapse"!
