Picture test

Well that last post showed up, I have no ability to label each post though, I guess I can do that later.

So now I'm testing the ability to send pictures along with my messages
through this here phizzle. I was gonna try and send a pic of myself
but that seemed weird, so you get our new badass logo instead.

If this works it will be sweet to instantly post things like pics of
the scoreboard after we dominate the hawks again I'm football!

Testing

I know I haven't written on here in a while, I have been freaking
insanely busy as of late but I plan on giving some opinions as soon as
possible...

For now I am testing out this mobile blogging feature on my iPhone.
So... Will this post show up or not?

Hawks suck!!

naysayers

"You naysayer... always f***ing naysaying..."

People I know are trying to rip on this trade the Mets just made, saying we sold the farm, so to speak, and I think they are just bitter. Everyone knows we got a great deal on this.

I know we supposedly gave up 4 of our "best prospects" but they are what they are, prospects. I liked Gomez, he had wheels, etc. etc. But come on! Johan Santana!

In response to you (Mr. Crooks) I suggest you read this article: LINK It has some good things for fans of both teams. Things you may not realize. All in all it's not a BAD trade for the Twins, they jsut could have maybe gotten a better one.

For now -- just bask in the glory that is the New York Mets.

it's peanut butter jelly time!!!

Wow. Just wow. I never thought this would actually happen.

Well, I thought there was a chance. But I thought we would have to give our left and right nuts for it to happen...

Johan Santana is a Met.

JOHAN SANTANA IS A FREAKING MET!!!

20 minutes ago -- I get home from work, turn on ESPN and see the "BREAKING NEWS " segment show up immediately. I knew the Twins were supposed to be making a decision today, but I never actually thought...

The USA Today is reporting that for Johan we are giving up Carlos Gomez, Philip Humber, Kevin Mulvey, and Carlos Guerra. Wow. If this all pans out, we didn't have to give up Fernando Martinez or Mike Pelfrey!

They just said on ESPN that this is the 4th worst offer the Twins got for Santana, (the other 3 were from the Yankees and the Red Sox earlier on) but they played hard ball, stuck it out, and ended up getting burned. I thought for sure we were gonna lose F-Mart, but Omar played his cards right, and I am pumped!

You can read about it here, here, here, and here.

From the USA TODAY: "The deal is pending the Mets and Santana reaching agreement on a six- or seven-year contract extension and that Santana passes a physical; they have been granted a 48 to-72-hour window to do so."

Let's get that contract figured out men. For now you can sit back and wipe the drool off of your chin and take a look at our 2008 rotation now:

1) Pedro Martinez
2) Johan Santana
3) John Maine
4) Oliver Perez
5) Orlando "El Duque" Hernandez

I love this deal, but FWIW, I did like Carlos Gomez, and I think he will turn out to be a great player.

I need a beer.

vermeil a cyclone?

The Chiefs tried to regain some offensive firepower this week by signing Chan Gailey. We haven't been stellar on that side of the ball since Dick Vermeil was around. Well. The old man has been spotted at the East/West Shrine Bowl game practices wearing an ISU CYCLONES HAT!!!

How sweet is that? Not sure how or why he got it. I did hear that when Vermeil was still coaching our Chiefs, Jim Criner would help him out in preseason drills, so who knows?

Anyways, there was a post on AP the other day that got my attention, relating offense/defensive rankings to each other. Here are a couple of interesting graphs. (Well, interesting to me)

Above is somewhat of a copy of arrowhead pride's graph. But I put white lines in for years we made the playoffs. I learned nothing except that a lot of different styles of team can make the playoffs. Anybody else learn anything besides: "man, our offense sucked last year!"?

This one is just showing where we have ranked in the Takeaway/Giveaway ratio. The yellow dots are years we made the playoffs, and the red dots are years we didn't. The yellow line is our average T/G ratio ranking when we make the playoffs, and the red line is for when we didn't.

Nothing really groundbreaking here, it's amazing that in 1999 we didn't make the playoffs with that ratio. That was Gunther's first year after Marty resigned. The freakin Raiders beat us with a FG in OT to make us finish 9-7 and miss the playoffs.

wedding bells

This isn't really related to anything about the clones or chiefs or mets or live music. So why am I posting it? Because it is related to drinking, so I have every right to post it, because besides the clones or the chiefs or the mets or live music, drinking is all I talk about. (outside of work of course)

Anyways, Jackie and Steemer have a wedding website, right here.

You can count on most of the people I know getting hammered and doing the chicken dance. So that will be cool.
