the next isu champ

Not that there ever will be another Cael -- he is one of a kind, the best college wrestler ever. He is the only wrestler ever to go undefeated in a career (159-0), won four NCAA titles, and also is an Olympic Gold Medalist.

Now, in his 1st year he has been awarded Big XII Coach of the Year, and will hopefully/probably be awarded NCAA Coach of the Year. But, there is a youngster out there who hopes to be like him.

Pete Baldwin II, a 14 year old 8th grader at Kissimmee Life Academy has Cael Sanderson listed as his favorite athlete.

What's so big about that? Well this kid has a record of 102-12, with 67 pins.

Still not impressed? He won the 103 pound state championship.

Big deal you say? Well, those are all VARSITY numbers. He is in eighth grade. He has been doing all of that against varsity competition. He started wrestling varsity in SIXTH GRADE!

It's hard to judge what the competition in Florida is, but that is pretty damned impressive either way. I mean come on, this guy went out for wrestling in fourth grade to get in shape for football! I have no idea what I was doing in 4th grade, hell, I was probably hitting on chicks.

This should be a shoe-in of a recruit for Cael. I mean who doesn't want to strap on the Cardinal and Gold and wrestle for ISU and Cael Sanderson. But this kid, listing Cael as his favorite athlete at least deserves a visit!!! Final thought -- Cael Sanderson would beat the crap out of Dan Gable, and I hope he actually does someday.

SIDE NOTE -- I once served Cael at the Kwik Shop (my college place of employment) ohh, must've been Cael's junior or senior year. He got a Gatorade and Cheetos. Any kids out there want to be wrestling stars -- EAT YOUR CHEETOS!!
